SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Sunday, 28 July, 2024, at the Church of St. Thomas in Kuantan. The ceremony will begin with Rosary at 8.30 am, followed by Multi-lingual Mass at 9:00 am. Archbishop Julian Leow will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation.


Please take note that there will be NO Mandarin Mass on this day.


RCIA FOR 2024/2025
Are you interested to know about Catholicism or seeking to deepen your understanding of the Catholic faith?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process that enables individuals to explore faith and belief in the Catholic tradition. Candidates will undergo a year programme to gain understanding and experience of the teachings and practices of Catholic Church.


The RCIA new intake for 2024/2025 is now open for registration. If you, or anyone you know, who would like to know about the Catholic faith, please do introduce them to the respective contact person as listed below, or get in touch with the parish office.

Schedule for classes as follows:
First session on Sunday, 21 July 2024 at 10 a.m. in English, and will continue every Sunday thereafter.
 First session on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in Mandarin, and will continue every
Tuesday thereafter.

 

SAINT THOMAS SOUP KITCHEN MINISTRY

We have recently re-launched the Soup Kitchen Ministry and are looking for dedicated volunteers to join us in feeding the poor. If you would like to contribute cash or provisions such as vegetables or meat, please feel free to contact the respective persons or the Parish Office. At the moment we provide one meal to the poor every Sunday. If you know anyone in your neighborhood who are in need of food, please introduce them to the committee members by providing their contact details.

​​100 WEEKS BIBLE STUDY (ENGLISH)

After the Feast of St Thomas, we will commence a 100 Weeks Bible Study. This study will help you grasp the  content of each book of the Bible, understand the history of salvation, and enhance your knowledge of Sacred  Scriptures. Contact Sheila Fernandez at 0139351918.

VOLUNTEERS  ARE REQUIRED

The Liturgical Team seeks volunteers as Lectors, musicians, choir members and other roles to enhance the ministry. Appropriate training will be provided. If you are interested, please contact Ms Christina Alex at 017- 920 5820 and Ms Venessa Alberto at 019-980 3998.

GUIDELINES CONCERNING THE ATTENDANCE AT MASS IN CHURCH 
Face Mask: We encourage Parishioners to wear face masks. However, using a face mask is strongly encouraged for persons who may be vulnerable to the Coronavirus and those with flu-like symptoms.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion:

  • Holy Communion will continue to be given on the hand.

  • Holy Communion ministers are strongly encouraged to wear face masks while distributing the Holy Eucharist to the recipients, just to safe guard the elderly, vulnerable and congregation.

​ST. THOMAS ADORATION ROOM
The Adoration Room (next to the Parish Office) is open from Monday to Saturday (7.00 am to 9.00 pm) and Sunday (7.00 am to 1.00 pm).

KINDLY ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING RULES WHILST IN THE ADORATION ROOM:

  • Remove your shoes before entering the room.

  • Maintain silence and reverence at all times.

  • Genuflect at the Blessed Sacrament when entering the room.

  • Do not touch the Tabernacle or Blessed Sacrament.

  • Do not move fixtures in the room or take home any prayer books or prayer cards.

  • Pray in silence and respect others.

  • No phone, food or drinks are allowed.
